The City of Seattle owns properties used for various municipal purposes, such as fire and police stations, swimming pools, parks and offices. Each City-owned property is assigned to a "jurisdictional" department that manages the property. The Seattle Department of Transportation, Seattle City Light, Department of Parks and Recreation, Seattle Public Utilities and the Department of Finance and Administrative Services oversee most of the City-owned property.

Update to Real Property auction bidding requirements, effective April 15, 2023
A single $5,000 non-refundable deposit, in the form of a cashier’s check made payable to "King County Superior Court Clerk", is required to participate in any real property auction. At the close each auction the highest bidder will be deemed the winner and will be immediately required to surrender the non-refundable deposit and sign the Deposit Requirements Acknowledgment. The balance of your winning bid must be tendered to the King County Sheriff’s Office, Civil Process Unit within two hours or the property will be offered to the next highest bidder.
